Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Examo, Loki AI, pricing, and how the platform fits into your study routine.

Is Examo free?
Yes. Examo has a free tier and does not require a credit card. Within the displayed monthly limits, Free users can create courses, use Loki for text tutoring and read-only course help, build manual study tools, practise questions, and preview shared courses. Agentic creation is a Pro feature, and Free users see that boundary before an action can run.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Free includes course creation with monthly AI limits, manual summaries and study tools, Loki text tutoring, practice questions, a short lecture-capture trial, and previews of shared courses. Pro adds eligible paid tools, including confirmed Loki actions for presentations, Excel study workbooks and revision plans, plus audio summaries, Loki calls, lecture-recording minutes, Essay Assistance, Presentation Studio, mock-exam creation, every available section of shared courses, and higher usage limits. You can buy extra lecture minutes as a one-time add-on. Check the pricing page for current weekly, monthly, and annual totals; Stripe confirms the final amount before payment.
How is Examo different from ChatGPT?
General-purpose assistants can summarise material and draft practice questions. Examo keeps your weeks, uploaded sources, summaries, study tools, revision plan, exam practice, and Loki conversations connected inside one course workspace. Loki uses the selected course context, although you should still check important answers against the original source.
What subjects does Examo support?
Examo is designed for course material across STEM, humanities, business, law, medicine, and social sciences, with math and LaTeX rendering for technical content. Results depend on source quality and subject complexity, so specialist notation, legal or medical details, and assessment instructions should be verified against the original course material.
How do I get started?
Create a free account, then build a course from a syllabus, outline, or lecture material. Processing time depends on file size and queue demand. When the course is ready, review its sections, create study tools, practise questions, and ask Loki about the material.
Can I share my courses with classmates?
Yes. Share a course with classmates using a private link. They can add it to their own dashboard and study from the same material while keeping their progress private. One person can set up the course, and the rest of the study group can learn from it together.
Does Examo replace my professors or textbooks?
No. Examo organises course material into explanations, revision tools, and practice. Your lecturer, official syllabus, assigned sources, and institution remain authoritative. AI can omit context or make mistakes, so it should support, not replace, teaching and source review.
Is using Examo allowed under my university's academic integrity policy?
Rules differ by course and institution. Examo is designed for explanation, revision, and practice, not for presenting generated work as your own. Check the assessment instructions and your institution's AI policy before using generated material in submitted work. Ask your instructor when the rules are unclear.
Is my data private?
Yes. Course materials you upload are private to your account. Shared courses are available only through the private link you create; they are not publicly indexed or used for training. You can delete your data from Settings. Read the Privacy Policy for full details.
Where is Examo available?
Examo is a web application available through modern browsers worldwide. It supports university-level study across subjects, curricula, and countries.
Can I install Examo as an app on my phone or computer?
Yes. Most browsers can install Examo as an app shortcut. On iPhone or iPad, open Examo in Safari and choose Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, use Chrome's Add to Home screen or Install app option. On desktop Chrome or Edge, use the install icon in the address bar or the browser's install option. Examo will open from your home screen, dock, or app launcher while continuing to use the web app.
